This acronym can even be replaced by the term \u201cexperimentation\u201d. But what is it exactly? Let me tell you.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. CRO? What does it mean?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>CRO aka Conversion Rate Optimization is a marketing strategy that comes straight from the United States. It is intended for e-commerce sites or applications wishing\u00a0<strong>to increase their profitability by transforming website users into customers<\/strong>. This is called conversion.<\/p>\n\n<p>It involves analysing and transforming the user experience to optimise the number of visitors becoming customers<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Why integrate experimentation into your marketing strategy?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>a. The conversion rate issue<\/em><\/h3>\n\n<p>The percentage of visitors who have carried out an action on your site is measured in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.definitions-marketing.com\/definition\/taux-de-conversion\/#:~:text=Le%20taux%20de%20conversion%20mesure,individus%20touch%C3%A9s%20par%20la%20campagne.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conversion rate<\/a>. Optimising a website means increasing this rate. Indeed, a better conversion rate is synonym of a better profitability. For major stakeholders in e-commerce, the improvement of one conversion point corresponds to several million additional sales.<\/p>\n\n<p>The challenge is therefore to analyze and understand the evolutions of this conversion rate while precisely monitoring factors that influence the website users\u2019 behaviors.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>b. A true marketing strategy complementary to the SEO<\/em><\/h3>\n\n<p>This new experimentation marketing technique complements the now well-known <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seo.fr\/definition\/seo-definition\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SEO<\/a> (short for Search Engine optimization). SEO is a method that uses the best key words to reach a good position in the search engine results pages.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00a0SEO gives good visibility to your website. Hence, more users visit the site. However, to increase our revenue, you cannot just wait for new visitors. You have to CAUSE their visit and above all to turn these visitors into customers. How does CRO work?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p>The operation of CRO is essentially based on data analysis. This analysis gives us a better understanding of our public in order to propose a new user path, known as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kameleoon.com\/fr\/blog\/tunnel-conversion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">funnel<\/a>, which is more likely to transform visitors into customers.<\/p>\n\n<p>The CRO rest on the analysis of 4 parameters:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0<strong>Quantitative data<\/strong>: this data is delivered by collection tools such as <a href=\"https:\/\/analytics.google.com\/analytics\/web\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Google Analytics<\/a> which analyse the flow of visitors to the site as well as their characteristics.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Qualitative data:<\/strong> qualitative data provides information on the behaviour of site users (purchase, bias, etc.) to understand their actions via tools such as<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.journaldunet.com\/solutions\/dsi\/1491487-le-francais-contentsquare-leve-190-millions-de-dollars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ContentSquare<\/a><\/strong> or <a href=\"https:\/\/decibel.com\/what-is-decibel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Decibel<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for example.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Cognitive or field data<\/strong>: this data corresponds to the user\u2019s feelings when using the solution. Collected during individual or group interviews, it provides a more subjective view of the user experience.<\/li>\n\n<li><strong>Technical performance:<\/strong>\u00a0thanks to the analysis of technical performance, we can highlight the technical difficulties encountered by users (slow loading, frequent 404 errors, etc.).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>The intersection of these four parameters allows us to identify the opportunities as well as the obstacles to improving the site.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>How is this data used?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The analysis of this data is part of a\u00a0<strong>conversion rate optimization process<\/strong>. The conversion rate optimization process is an ongoing or ad hoc process that will lead to the implementation of actions. Each action, which is included in a roadmap or action plan, responds to an identified problem. These actions are prioritized.
